As a part of our new IPC unit, "Places People Go - Holidays", 1 Pink and 1 Red are taking a trip to Hawaii tomorrow afternoon. We have asked our students to come into school wearing free dress tomorrow with accessories that may be useful in Hawaii, such as hats and sunglasses. We have also asked our students to bring one stuffed animal or a doll to accompany them on their trip.
Please help your daughter dress in "Hawaiian style" or regular free dress that would tolerate the current Tokyo temperature!
Thank you, in advance, for your kind support in helping your daughter choose an appropriate clothes. We are looking forward to our trip tomorrow!
All Kindergarten to Grade 12 students will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15th.
Mater Admirabilis is a day of special significance for all Sacred Heart schools. It is a painting of Mary, the Blessed Virgin, with many symbols for her virtues. The children will be learning about the painting and it’s importance at assemblies that week.
Kindergarten Junior School will be celebrating Sacred Heart’s “Mater Admirabilis” on Friday, October 18th.
On this day, we will also bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness. The girls can wear pink and blue denim (skirt or jeans) to school for a suggested donation of ¥200 which will be sent to the Susan Komen foundation.
On Tuesday, October 8th, we will have "Friday Schedule". This means all specialist classes will take place as they would on a Friday. Please remind your daughter to pack her PE kit.
Thank you in advance for your support.
SOFIS is an acronym for a group of five Sacred Heart Schools here in Japan – Sapporo, Obayashi, Fuji, ISSH and Sankocho. Each summer high school girls from each of the five schools gather for a project. This summer the students went to Sendai to visit the areas and meet the people affected by the Tsunami in 2011. On their return, these students wanted to fundraise to help the ongoing efforts to improve the conditions for these people. On Thursday, September 6th all ISSH students are invited to wear free dress – and to donate to this Tohoku fund. 200 yen is the suggested donation amount. Thank you!
Please be reminded that we will be taking our class photos for the yearbook tomorrow. Please be sure to send your daughter into school wearing perfect uniform (pinafore, white blouse, navy blue socks and black shoes).
Thank you for your cooperation!
Due to the approaching typhoon, ISSH will be closed on Monday, September 16th. Accordingly, our Mini Day will NOT take place as scheduled. We will keep you posted once a decision has been made about rescheduling the Mini Day.
Please stay safe!
Friday, September 13th will be our Spirit Day. Please note that our students will not come to school in their uniform but will wear free dress with the color of their class.
1-Pink students should come to school wearing pink color t-shirt and 1-Red with red color t-shirt on Spirit Day!
If your daughter does not own anything of the class color, please do your best to prepare something close to the class color. There is no need for you to purchase new clothing for this event.
